Farbularse 4th of July Red White & Blue Salad/Slaw Thing

 This is July 4th post #1 for this year...
If you've followed me at all, you will know that I don't shy away
from combining fruits into my savory vegetables.
Here is a more or less red, white & blue salad or slaw for July 4th
or any ol' tyme.
Easy to make!

Basics:
1/2 C. halved cherries
1/2 C. blueberries
1 C. diced peeled chayote or white chayote
1 C. peeled diced jicama
1/4 C. thinly sliced raddichio
1/2 C. chopped or sliced tomatoes or maybe little plum tomatoes
salt and white pepper to taste

Toss all of this together and season, drizzle with dressing.

Optional: steamed quartered baby blue potatoes
slivered almonds
thinly sliced red bell pepper
radishes of various red, white and blue sorts
steamed blue corn
- I didn't have any of that stuff today and I'm too lazy to go
to the store so, not pictured

For the dressing I would combine 1 Tbsp. tahini with salt to taste
1 Tbsp. each lemon or lime juice and cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp. olive oil,
1/4 tsp. smoked paprika and 1/4 tsp. of poppy seeds



And there you have it- a vegan slaw/salad/side for 4th of July, suitable
for allllllllll!!
